Saratoga Spa State Park Golf Course
The Championship Course is one of the premier public courses in the Saratoga-Capital Region of NYS, and a consistent recipient of 4 stars from Golf Digest’s Best Places to Play. The original holes were opened in 1936. In the late 1950s golf course architect William Mitchell was brought in, and designed the course we all enjoy today. Shortly thereafter, Arnold Palmer and Gary Player played a commemorative round to celebrate the reopening of the course. A forest setting, the course derives much of its character from the majestic pines that frame several holes, creating a feeling of seclusion.

The Executive Course consists of seven par 3s and two par 4s, which explains why it is frequently referred to as the “Par 29”. While the course is short (1671 yards), it has lots of character and appeals to many different types of golfers. Much of it is tree-lined, so there is a comfortable separation between the holes.
